Notification of staying in the Kingdom of Thailand over 90 days
The 90 day report for foreigners is mandatory. Missing a 90 day report may result in monetary fines, difficulty with immigration services, and/or difficulty with any other government matters. Read on to make sure you know what to do, when to do it, and where to do it.
Non-Thai nationals residing in Thailand must notify immigration of their address every 90 days, as long as they do not leave the country. If they do leave the country, then the 90-day countdown begins upon returning to Thailand. The 90-day notification requirement is applicable to all visa types, i.e. working visa, marriage visa, retirement visa, guardian visa, etc.
How to do a 90-day notification of address in Thailand
The notification may be done in-person at the appropriate immigration office in your city/province, or by authorizing another person to make the notification, such as an agent, or by sending the notification via registered mail, or by internet (see the Immigration Bureau website for the latest information).
The notification must be made within 15 days before or 7 days after the period of 90 days expires, otherwise the foreigner must appear in-person and pay a fine.

Where to do a 90-day notification:
- 90-day report in Bangkok Immigration Bureau: Foreigners who reside in Bangkok can submit a 90-day report at Immigration Division 1, Government Complex B, Building 120, Immigration Bureau, Chaengwattana Rd (also known as Chaengwattana). (See Google Maps)
- Chamchuri Square Building, Bangkok: One Stop Center for Visa and Work Permits located at Chamchuri Square Building, Floor 18, Phayathai Rd., Bangkok. This location and service is only available for foreigners and their families meeting specific criteria. For more information, see the One Stop Service website. Services are provided only to foreigners who have already submitted an application for temporary stay in the Kingdom of Thailand.
- Out of Bangkok: For other provinces, 90-day reports should be notified at a local Immigration Checkpoint where the foreigner resides.
Don’t miss your 90 day report, or else…
- Your documents cannot be processed if you have passed the 90 day limit. In that case, you must go to the nearest immigration office or Immigration Division 1 in person to pay a fine of 2,000 Baht)
- Notification of staying in Thailand over 90 days is in no way equivalent to a visa extension.
- If a foreigner stays in Thailand over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or notifying the Immigration Bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000 Baht will be collected.
- If a foreigner did not submit the notification of staying over 90 days and is subsequently arrested, they will be fined 5,000 Baht.
- If a foreigner leaves the country and re-enters, the 90-day count resets.

What is the TM30 in Thailand?
Non-Thai nationals must report their residence to immigration anytime they reside away from their permanent address within Thailand (for example, staying at a hotel on holiday), and upon returning to their permanent address in Thailand. Reporting must be done within 24 hours of arriving at the residence. Most hotels will submit the TM30 on behalf of their guests. Landlords are obliged to submit notification as well for their foreign tenants. While cumbersome, the TM30 is the nonetheless necessary for every foreigner staying in Thailand. Not having an up to date TM30 can result in many unforeseen problems when dealing with official matters.
Required Documents
- Original passport + TM6 (departure card)

- Copy of house registration from landlord

The Procedure
- Forward all required documents to VisaThai
- VisaThai staff will contact immigration on your behalf
- Return passport with TM30 to the customer
