If you need to use your Thai marriage certificate as a legal document outside of Thailand, you must have it translated into English or your own language and certified at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs or at an Embassy in Thailand.
The Embassy is not authorized to provide or recommend translation services, but there are various translation services nearby.
Foreign nationals who are married to Thai nationals do not automatically qualify for residency or citizenship. The foreign national must apply for an appropriate visa at Immigration and renew the visa every year. For more information on a visa based on marriage, visit our page: Marriage Visa in Thailand.
