Additional Information You May Need

If you plan to use your Thai marriage certificate as a legal document in another country, it is best to have it translated into English or your own language and notarized either at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs or at your Embassy. Please note that embassies are not authorized to provide or recommend translation services, but many professional translation services are available in Thailand, including us.

Foreigners who marry Thai nationals do not automatically acquire Thai citizenship. To remain in Thailand, foreign spouses must apply for a Thai Marriage Visa at Immigration and renew the visa annually. For more information see our Marriage Visa page here.
